In the fall of 2007 I made a project proposal in collaboration with Royal Copenhagen where I redesigned familiar service. I completed a proposal for a more chaste decoration on selected items from Grethe Meyer’s service “Hvidpot”. (White pot).
The intention was to create a decoration which reflected the history of Royal Copenhagen while simultaneously being able to accommodate Grethe Meyers very beautiful yet basic mode of expression.
By applying a “thread” and trying to create a sense of coherence by merging my designs with elements of previously utilized and recognizable patterns depicting small insects and iconic designs such as “Blå Blomst” (Blue flower), “Mågen” (The gull) I intended to create a new decoration that still carried a reminiscence and respect of the historical touch.
